1974-2024

Last year, we celebrated our 50th anniversary of bringing Waldorf education to Chicago.

In the spring, we threw it back to 1974 with a record-breaking gala. CWS alumni, former teachers, and community members gathered to celebrate our first fifty years and lay the foundation for our next fifty years, all while dressed in their finest 1970s attire. We danced to Diana Ross, boogied to Barry White, and raised over $425,000. By the end of the year, we’d raised over $710,000 for the Community Fund.

That support helped us to expand our award-winning Student Services Department, bolster extracurricular programming, and prioritize marketing efforts.
